Yard Waste Collection / Compost Program

Yard waste is collected on designated trash days. All yard waste is composted. Grass clippings and other organic lawn materials are banned from the landfill. Through the composting program with North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD), the City receives a small amount of compost (approximately 150 cubic feet) free of charge. This compost is available at no cost to non-profit organizations in Allen working on beautification programs. Email the Waste Services Division for more information.

Residents receive a coupon on the back of the annual Trash and Recycling Guidelines to be used towards the purchase of compost from Texas Pure Products at the Custer Road Transfer Station, 9901 Custer Road in Plano. The Custer Road Transfer Station is open Monday through Saturday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. It is closed on all major holidays.
